Mack Johnson
about
Mack Johnson is a video editor with over 15 years of experience crafting thumb-stopping, shareable content and branded entertainment. Her work spans global brands including Google, Snapchat, Nike, Starbucks, and Taco Bell, as well as culture-drivers and publishers like Variety, Condé Nast, and Live Nation.
She began her career in sports, shooting and editing for University of Kentucky Athletics, a foundation that continues to shape her work. At TBWA, Mack honed her ability to create at the speed of culture as part of \backslash, the agency’s in-house trends and cultural intelligence unit. At Variety, she produced, shot and edited editorial content around Hollywood’s biggest moments, from Sundance to the Oscars, and led the team’s pivot to remote interviews and livestream content during COVID-19.
Now an independent video editor, Mack specializes in branded storytelling, short and long-form, especially at the intersection of sports and culture. She’s worked with leading production houses, and collaborated with Naomi Osaka’s Hana Kuma and UNINTERRUPTED, the athlete empowerment platform founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter.
Originally from Kentucky, Mack has lived everywhere from Australia’s Gold Coast to Monterey Bay, and now calls Los Angeles home with her wife and their (very good) dog, Bucatini. A self-proclaimed gearhead, she spends her free time off-roading and motorcycling across California.
